Project Background

OGP Group was engaged by ENGIE to identify an economical solution, manage procurement, and lead project delivery and closure following an amendment to the Environment Protection (Water Quality) Policy 2015. In January 2018, this policy change triggered the identification of fluorinated fire-fighting foam at ENGIE's sites, including PFAS found in the firefighting foam at Dry Creek Power Station.

OGP provided a comprehensive solution for the project by effectively managing and coordinating all aspects, including:

  • Collaborating with the plant manager to understand the foam system.
  • Coordinating with the EPA to ensure project activities aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Managing the procurement process and negotiating contracts with the contractor.
  • Navigating ENGIE’s internal gated process to secure funding approval.
  • Leading project activities on-site.
  • Preparing the compliance report for EPA approval.

The Outcome

OGP Group's expertise in fire systems led to a highly successful project outcome. Previous estimates by ENGIE had placed the solution's cost at approximately $1.5 million. However, OGP’s innovative engineering solutions resulted in a substantial cost reduction in project CAPEX to $270,000, resulting in significant savings for ENGIE.
