The OGP Solution

Our in-house team was involved in several ways, which contributed to the tracking structure for the farm. This includes:

• Specification/review of the 33kV switchroom, harmonic filters, switchboards, RMUs, and transformers.
• Engineering and Design of the HV fault Limiter and Neutral earth reactor.
• Design and testing of the earth grid.Review the short circuit study and protection settings.
• Procurement and logistics management, including expediting major equipment delivery.
• Commercial negotiations and contract administration of major construction work packages for civil, mechanical and electrical.
• Management of construction and commissioning teams.Project scheduling and cost control.
• Technical support for interfacing with AEMO and the TNSP.Contract review and tender management.RPEQ validation of the EPC’s detailed design.

The Outcome

By conducting a thorough review of the project’s short circuit studies, OGP identified that the future prospective short circuit rating could potentially exceed the 33kV switchgear rating. To address this issue, we designed, procured, and managed the installation of a fault limiter.

Our team also successfully navigated the project’s technical, budgetary, and scheduling challenges, along with the environmental and labour hire challenges inherent to such a remote site.
