The Pelican Point Combined Cycle gas turbine site located in Outer Harbour, SA was the focus of a project for which Engie participated in the SA Government tender. ENGIE sought to optimise the existing Pelican Point connection to the ElectraNet grid and maximise the use of existing infrastructure at the facility. Their goal was to minimise CAPEX, accelerate project timelines and maximise the use of their existing infrastructure at the plant.

Integrated Engineering & Project Delivery
Our in-house team was involved in several ways that contributed to the Pelican Point project. This includes:
Upon securing the tender from the SA Government, OGP Group completed a streamlined design to accelerate the schedule while ensuring that the scope, technology, and application were understood from a cost, risk, and schedule perspective.
We also engaged with various stakeholders including EPC and O&M contractors, grid operators, and various specialists early in the process, and managed the shortlisting and negotiation efforts. This proactive approach allowed us to meet the aggressive schedule requirements imposed by summer operational constraints and ensured that the final grid studies did not compromise the project scope or cost.
