Project Background

The Willogoleche Wind Farm is located approximately 200km north of Adelaide, SA, comprising of 32 turbines generating a combined generation output of 119MW. OGP Group was integrated into the owner’s delivery team and took on responsibility for project management from the FEED phase through to commissioning and handover.

The OGP Solution

The overall scope of the project saw our team perform a variety of tasks, including:

  • Project management, encompassing all aspects stakeholder management, including coordination with AEMO and ESCOSA.
  • Risk management, including conducting workshops, preparing the risk register and regular updates.
  • Vendor and Environmental Protection Committee (EPC) review and contractor negotiation support.
  • Served as an independent member of the Executive Steering Committee.

The Outcome

The OGP team’s technical and commercial expertise enabled delivery of effective solutions that addressed the significant challenges posed by EPC schedule delays and the failure of the turbines during the commissioning/operations phase. This outcome demonstrated our ability to manage external factors, ensuring that they did not disrupt progress. Also, drawing on our experience with TNSPs, we executed seamless stakeholder management between the project team and relevant regulatory bodies.
